The band's first studio release, culled from soused Sunday afternoons spent noodling around on laptops and acoustic guitars, was released in time for their first public show in Newcastle in 2010.

Ranging from heavily processed arrangements (reflecting producer Andrew Gardiner's preoccupation with beat programming at the time) to brutal, bleak landscapes of suffering and moaning, 'I Want To Die' offers an insight into Blue Screem's pre-punk era.

Nothing escapes Page's sharp lyrical eye: Twin Peaks, Trailer Park Boys, scenesters from local volunteer arts cinemas and the worryingly repetitive refrain of ending it all. He even hits upon a Biblical theme of Jeremiah at one point, for reasons he has since kept to himself.
